Need some free advice on learning to drive?
We understand that choosing a driving instructor can be difficult and there will be lots of questions you will want answered. Have a look at what other pupils have asked as it may help. If not just give us a call thats what we are here for!
What do I need before starting or booking driving lessons?
You need to be 17 years of age. Hold a valid provisional driving licence. You MUST bring both the paper and the card to your first lesson. You can obtain a licence application form D1 from any main post office or online. For more info visit the DVLA web site via our useful links page. If you wear glasses please ensure you have these with you.
How many driving lessons will I need?
There is no minimum or maximum amount. There are many factors that need to be taken into consideration, for example; the consistency of your lesson's and your own rate of learning. By attending an assessment your driving instructor will be able to give you an approximate guideline of how many lesson's you will need.
When can I have my lessons?
We will always do our best to suite your needs. Book early if there is a specific day and time you want.
Do you do 2 hour lessons?
Yes, most pupils find it more beneficial to do a 2 hour lesson.
Can I start driving lessons before passing my theory test?
Yes, the practical experience will help you understand the questions and answers in the theory test.

Can I do an intense course in one week?

Do you charge for cancellations?
We understand that things happen. Please give us as much notice as you possibly can if you cannot attend your lesson. For further details please see our T&Cs
When I pay for my test does this cover all charges for your car?
No, your test fee is paid to the DSA. We recommend you book the car for at least 2 hours to allow for your test.
Do you have automatic cars?
No, Only manual cars. We recommend learning to drive in a manual car as there are no restrictions to your licence. Further more, if we don't get you moving off and stopping by the end of your first lesson we will give you your money back!
What if I get 6 points in the first 2 years of passing my test?
You will have to resit both your theory and practical test again as a learner.
What areas do you cover?
Sheffield, Chesterfield and surrounding areas. If unsure please call to see if we cover your area.
What will I do on my first driving lesson?
We will aim to get you familiar with the car and all the controls. We will also try moving off and stoping.
What if I fail my test?
If you fail don't worry try again, not everybody passes first time.
How long do I have to wait before booking my test again if I fail?
10 working days. This gives you plenty of time to practise where it went wrong.
Could I be collected from my school or place of work?
You can arrange to be picked up from anywhere, as long as this is within a reasonable distance. Ask for further details when booking your lesson.
Do you do mock tests?
Yes, we feel a second opinion can be useful so even if you have an instructor why not try a mock test with us.
Can I get a gift voucher?
Yes, you can get a voucher for as little as one lesson so make someone happy buy one today.
When I pay will I get a receipt?
Yes, receipt's are available on request.
What if my test is cancelled by the DSA?
The DSA will rebook your test.
What if I book my test and you cannot fit me in?
Always discuss your plans with your instructor, this way he will be able to advise you if he is available and more importantly if you are ready.
How long are my lessons valid?
Your lessons will be valid for 3 months from the date of your last lesson. So please let us know if you are taking a break. See our Terms and Conditions for full details.
When can I apply for my provisional driving licence?
You can apply for your Licence up to 3 Months before you turn 17.
Can I accumulate points on my provisional licence?
You can accumulate points on your Provisional licence, if you have more than 6 points on your provisional licence, then your licence will be revoked under the new driver act.
